It was rough going getting into the Baz Cantons, the Mandolorians were on high alert after the actions earliet in the day. Still Z managed, with only a little bit of a scuffle.

It was more attention then he had wanted, but hed have to deal with it. As he walked in he adjusted his jacket, trying to hide any I'll effects of the day as he looked around the bar.

The place was not exactly packed but there were zabrak here, but sitting at a table all alone was a woman nursing a drink, a purple colored spirit. She swirled it and then took another drink.

At the bar were three zabrak, in dirty work clothes in a rowdy conversation in their native tongue. Harsh music was playing in the background.

Z strolled up to the bartender to order a drink, something simple and cheap, his eyes scannign the back wall, to see how well stocked they were. Who knows, he might be able to unload some of his corellian liquor here at a later date. After receiving his drink,a simple whiskey and water he made his way over to the table with the lovely woman. The trio of Zabrak likely weren't who he was supposed to meet,and the woman seemed as likely as anyone else.

"Good evening." Z greeted her with a easy smile as he approached her table. "I couldn't help but notice you off here on your own. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind some company?"

[Dapper Dog]

“I usually would, but when the company is as charming as you are, I can make an exception,” she said smoothly.

“Have a light?” she asked producing a thin cigarette.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Of course." Zan replied simply, reaching into his jacket to produce a lighter, after setting his glass at the table across from her, before rounding the table, and offering to light her cigarette. "Hardly meet anyone who smokes." The man mused, moving back towards the other side of the table when he was done.

[Dapper Dog]

She took a deep slow drag and then said, “Maybe you should meet more people. Around here we take our pleasures where we can. So what are you in the mood for tonight, mister..”

Zane smirked and took the seat across from her, reaching into his pocket to produce a pack of cigarettes and pop one into his mouth. He took a moment to light it, and take a drag before responding. "Cant' say I can argue with the type of thinking he offered at last. Too many people in this galaxy don't know how to relax, at least in my opinion."

"As for what I'm interested in in." He studied her for a moment removing his cigarette from his mouth so he could bring his glass to his lips and take a sip. "I suppose that depends on a few things, though polite conversation is a good place to start."

"I'm Zanebry, you can call me Z if you like."

[Dapper Dog]

“Shouldn’t all conversation be polite?” she mused lightly.

“You seem far too clever to be a rude man to a beautiful stranger.”

[Zanebry Varliss]

"You'd think so, and it tends to get that way after two or three drinks, at least in my experience."

He smirked at that. "I do think myself a clever man, especially around a beautiful stranger.... But I can't say I'm the only one around, am I?"

[Dapper Dog]

“You don’t seem like the kind of man that would let a beautiful opportunity pass him by, so what brings you to Uthan Mil, here to liberate or just slumming?” she said casually her eyes watching his reactions carefully.

"If I wanted to slum it, I'd likely be on Nar Shaddaa. They really know the meaning of the word there." He offered with a smirk.

"No, I'm open to opportunities, the right one's at the very least." He studied her in turn, he wasn't sure what this group might be over, but they apparently knew enough about him to send someone that would catch his attention.

“Do you enjoy games of chance, Zanebry?” she asked before taking a drag.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I do." He replied raising a eyebrow, before bringing his cigarette to his lips and taking a slow pull.

"Adds a bit of excitement to life." He finished as he exhaled.

[Dapper Dog]

The woman puts a holdout blaster on the table and said, “I like a man willing to take chances, allow his destiny be determined by the draw of a card or the pull of a trigger. Just depends on how high you want the stakes to go, how far are yu willing to take the game.”

“Will you fold or put it all on the line.”

[Zanebry Varliss]

Z took another long drag from his cigarette. "When the stakes are right, I go all in." He offered after a moment. "Don't matter what the odds are."

"Playing blind is typically not my style though, at least not anymore." He eyed her carefully. "There are whole legions of devils that can end up on your tail, if and when you play like that."

“So tell me about Project Evolution, Zanebry, did you find your reward worthwhile for all your efforts?” she responded.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"If you're asking if the Republic gave me any thing for my work, the answers no. Well other then a shiny piece of scrap metal." He picked up his glass and took a slow sip.

"Was it worth doing anyways though? Yes."

[Dapper Dog]

“So motivated by compassion and wanting to make things better? I am just curious what motivate you, Zanebry,” she said finishing her cigarette.

[Zanebry Varliss]

He finished his own smoke, snuffong out the end with his gloved fingers, before pulling a small case from his pocket, and placing the butt inside."

"It's probably closer to that now days, I don't want to just do without thinking any more. Though as I said, I'm not afraid to go all in.m, for the right stakes. Course money can be a motivator, though that's more just a way to keep working. If the jobs not right, no amount of it will change my mind."

“Making things better is of interest to a great deal of influential people, chief among them is removing threats to galactic stability. Your work has gone a long way to help a great deal of people, but it is sadly just a small drip in a galaxy wide bucket,” she responded.

She put her hand on the holdout blaster, “You can remove threats one at a time, or you can think larger and remove the source altogether. Is it better to win a war by sacrificing a million men, or killing one man?”

"The later is usually the wiser way of doing things." He offered carefully. "Its usually the more difficult of the two paths though."

"A lot of men like that like to stay out of the lime light, or at least behind an army of guards. I'm intrested though. As to who you might have in mind at the very least."

She was quiet as she considerer that and then took a sip of her drink and then asked, “I think we can do business. If you don’t mind getting your hands dirty then we have a simple task for you, perform it well and the Clever Man may have more work for you.”

“Interested? This is your chance to walk away and he will understand, no strings.”

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Agreement before hearing the job." He leaned back in his seat and looked her over. "You're asking for a lot of trust from me there."

"Especially given that you never introduced yourself, and the fact that your associate goes by a pseudonym."

[Dapper Dog]

“Acceptable terms.”

“The Clever Man wants a relic procured from the museum in their secure vaults. It was brought to this world under false pretense and he would see it returned to the rightful parties. The relic is called the Heraldian Cipher, it is a series of plastisteel tablets that date back to the Great Hyperspace War.”

She paused and took a drink, “The compensation would come to five thousand credits for discreet services rendered.”

"Would I be working alone?" He asked after a few moments. The job was tempting, though he was curious about a few other things. Something told him that more information wasn't forthcoming though.
