Vando led the group to the base which was built into the side of a canyon, without his guidance getting there on foot would have been... dangerous.

T7-B8 had desginated a piece of flat land it discovered with it's scanners, opportune for the landing of their craft and triumphantly led the way to Chase and Vando once they had arrived. All together again the group was once again a merry band.

"Forsaken desert," she said, as the others approached. "How was the flight?"

"Quiet enough I suppose, Nothing tried to shoot us down so that's something." Jax replied as he approached them.

"Boring and uneventful, jus how a good patrol should be. Although ah think now is likely to be anything but."

Garth replied as he tossed his flight helmet into the cockpit and locked up the Spitfire. If this was a trap it was one hell of an elaborate one.

It was quiet inside, lots of dust and signs that no one has been here. Vando frowned and said, “Well… at least the Mandos didn’t find the place.”

Regardless of the civilians words, Garth still had his blaster pistol in hand.

"Man but ain't this the cosiest hideaway. How long since you been here last?"

Jax looked about "Vando I don't want to call you a liar but it doesn't look much like anyone has been here in awhile." Jax said his own hand resting on his blaster pistol.

Chase didn't quite voice it, but she wasn't so sure as the others. Making her way further into the ghost town she took a direct approach of figuring out for sure if no one was here. T7 rolled along behind her, beeping occasionally inquisitively.

“Then they didn’t make it… damn. The Mandalorians probably got them, well that is… unfortunate,” Vando replied looking around.

“Knew this day might come but damn, still not prepared.”

'So this was like a fallback point or som'thin'?" Garth asked as he stepped up and patted the man on the back.

"Always hard losin' those ya fought with."

Chase, meanwhile, moved into one of the buildings and started checking crawlspaces. All the little nooks and crannies smaller children and the like could use to hide in. All the places she was more keenly aware of than perhaps she might like.

“Maybe,” he said before walking through the halls finding the Command Center and spinning up devices. He started working at the communication console and sent out an encoded distress beacon.

“I will let it run, let people know I am here at least. If any of my team is out there they should converge here.”

“Now I guess I wait, hope we left some rations or I am taking a diet.”

Chase finds a few small animals and critters but no people.

Chase swings back through, leaning in the doorwar, "Garth, or Jax, whoever. Give the boys back at base a call and let them know what's going on here. I'm certain they're gonna wanna send a few armed reinforcements to hold this place if there's a chance others of the resistance made it..."

Meanwhile, Chase made it a personal endeavor to go through a few more of the buildings. Ever searching in her quest. She wasn't gonna leave this kinda thing to chance when she felt the familiar pain in her gut.

Jax nodded and stepped out to make the call reported their coordinates and requested a team to hold down the area as well as bring any supplies that could be spared. He walked back in and looked at Vando "so Vando was it? How many were in your group?" He didn't fully trust this guy yet but he was reserving judgement until he knew otherwise.

“Fifteen, but Jeen and Boxi were cut down in the attack. Pop and pop… I am betting Hunu made a break for home, he was never fully committed. Really if anyone survived I am better they are with Umano, she was tougher than a rancor,” he responded ticking off names.

“It all happened so fast.”

Also a little suspicious, Garth wanders off in the direction of Chase, before communicating back to base in a soft voice, hoping not to be overheard by their host.

"Background check on possible resistance members aliases: Vando, Jeen, Boxi, Hnu and Umano."

Vando frowned as he looked at the local map and said, “They could be hiding in the Wound… maybe they couldn’t get all the way here. Maybe hunkered down till the night came.”

OOC: He is slick, but he does have a warm-hearted smile and he has the look of a man still processing he lost a great deal of friends today.

Chase returned from running about the ghost town, having found little of nothing in the surrounding buildings she'd settled that pit of concern in her stomach, "I didn't find anyone, looks like they never got here... what were your people doing before you were attacked Vando?"

Hmm Jax wasn't totally at ease but he the man didn't seem to be hiding anything "The wound huh? whats that?" he asked his tone's warmth was more genuine than before.

“We were planning an attack, ironically. We heard the Republic was in the area and figured now would be a good time to hit the mandos where it hurts,” he said.

“They hit us first.”

“The Wound is that gaping canyon we are in, stretches for hundreds kilometers in either direction. Way I am told it is from some natural tectonic event, or something.”

"How many were you did you say again?" she asked, moving over to a nearby crate and propping herself up atop a crate. Leaning her foot down against a smaller crate.
