[Day 5, EA] Let sleeping dogs lie (Rav's area)

It had taken a while but Rav had been pretty good at shifting his sleep cycle to account for the desert heat. There was an old saying his father had liked: Only mad Shistavanen and Alderaanians go out in the midday sun. He mostly agreed with that sentiment.

Today though there was something playing on his mind and he just couldn't get the z's he needed. Time for a new strategy. Grabbing his comlink he dialed up the number that Sara had given him and rolled back into his bed, staying up at the ceiling.

Sara answered, "Sergeant, was just working on something about Yancy. Figured you would want to know and then you called."

"Funny how that works."

His eyes widened a little. "Spooky. I was just lying here wondering why I couldn't sleep. Guess I must be a Jedi, right?" He sniggered in amusement.

"Great. So what did you dig up on ol' Yancy-pants?"

“He was spotted in the Wound, hopefully alive, but the locals were not exactly clear on the matter. I am putting together a team to check it out tomorrow, too much to do around here but tomorrow it’s all about Yancy. Be good to put that situation to bed,” she said.

"You're shitting me Sara! The Wound ain't that far, what's he up to?" Rav pondered the implications, eventually shaking his head to remove the creepy feeling in his temples.

"Okay, you tell me when and I'll be there. How many people have you got?"

“I have a small squad of three others willing to investigate with me. With you that makes five total, the Wound is a big place, and there are dangers other than Mandos out in the desert,” she responded.

"Okay, if you trust 'em that's good enough for me. Sounds like old times. Yeah, who knows what kinda weird animal life is waiting out there?" He was mildly excited by the thought of a hunt, for old times sake.

"When can we go? Any chance of avoiding the heat?"

"Figure we go just after dark [Mid Evening], not trying to die of heat stroke," she said in agreement.

"Works for me Sarge. Great, I'l meet you at the Resistance base and we can take it from there. Catch you tomorrow." He was going to say more, but was unsure what this whole Yancy thing meant. Why was he even still alive, what did he know? It was weird.

"Roger that, see you then," she said.

"Later." Rav turned off the comlink and folded his arms behind his head. He wasn't sure what it all meant but then he hadn't really had the time to think it all through. All he knew was that it'd be good to be working with Sara again.

Sleep came but didn't last. It was all weird dreams of half-remembered battles and Balmorra. Always Balmorra.
