Niall was freshly showered and shaved. He'd had his breakfast and his kaff. It was a civilized hour. It was time to make a call.

He activated his comms, reaching out to Lieutenant Usul.

Usul answered, a thin human with balding hair and a thin mustache. He replied, "Captain, how can I help you?"

"Lieutenant. Thank you." He gave the man a nod.

"I was following up on some information I received. I was hoping you could help me out." He frowned down at his datapad. "Records show that you received a delivery from the Midnight. Manifest listed as 'contraband'." He gave him the date, then looked up from the datapad. "I'd appreciate anything you can tell me about that delivery."

“Oh yeah, standard stuff, weapons taken from the Mandos, some spice… bad stuff, got it, processed it, and marked for destruction. Everything should be taken care of,” he responded.

"Hmmm." Niall frowned. "Send me the confirmation on that, if you would. And a complete inventory of the items destroyed. Nothing was unaccounted for?"

“Sure thing sir,” he said moving away from the holo and then returning. “Should be on the way, anything else?”

"One moment..." Niall frowned, comparing the time-stamps on all the documents. Could it have been possible for the Midnight to make an unscheduled delivery? Perhaps a swap?

Time stamps check out.

"Hmmm..." Niall said. He looked back at the comm. "Can you give me your impression of the Midnight and her crew? Anything unusual? Anything that stood out? Whatever you remember." He gave him an encouraging nod.

“Not really, been a bunch of civilian craft coming in and out, one crew of opportunists looks like another,” he said rubbing his chin in thought.

“Signed off by the ground crew, something wrong?”

"Perhaps. Perhaps not." Niall said. He sighed. "It's beginning to look like not. I think that's everything. Thank you, Lieutenant."

He did look down to compare the manifest with the items that had gone missing in the Resistance drop.

The manifests does not list anything that was stolen.

Frowning, Niall looked up the duty roster to find who would have done the actual unloading with Lt. Usul. Or, if it proved too difficult, called up T7 and asked him to do it. He'd interview them and see what they said...

T7 pulls up a report and he can find one glaring issue, there is a note of the delivery of and the arrival of the Midnight, comparing to crew notes there is no mention of the Midnight. Could just be a bad oversight, it happens but it is something that does not fit. This would be the crew on duty, lower ranked personnel assigned to do the work of unloading and moving equipment where it needs to be.

Well, that was certainly interesting. It was worth contacting the work crew, and confirming if they'd seen and unloaded the Midnight. Or remembered Jax and Azura. Niall did note that the Lieutenant hadn't made any mention of them when prompted.

Time to put in the calls. Niall sighed. Investigation was a lot of work.

A grizzled bothan technician answered and said in Huttese, “Grathu here, Valiant Star salvage team five, how can I help you?”

"This is Captain Niall Organa." Niall inclined his head. "I was looking for anything you could recall about a delivery made by the ship Midnight." He gave him the date. "I've got the manifest, receipt and destruction confirmed by Lieutenant Usul, but nothing from the work crew."

“Well… give me a sec, captain,” he said in Huttese. He came back to the line, “Yeah I see it signed in, but not seeing any crews doing the work. Bet someone got lazy, damn it. I will look into who Captain, poodoo rolls downhill as they say.”

"Please do." Niall said. "And get back to me as soon as you find out. High priority."

"You got it sir," the bothan replied.

"Very good. Thank you. Organa out." With that, Niall closed the comm.
