[D4, EM] Dawn

Galen sat outside, a short way from the barracks, where he could see the desert slowly illuminate as the sun rose. The air was crisp and cool. He could make out the vapor of his breaths, as he tried to slowly calm them.

Navi was inside. The puckmaren did not care for the cold or the heat of their current location. most of Galen's possessions were there, too, waiting for him to return and prepare for whatever the day would hold. Beyond the clothing he wore, all he had with him was the lightsaber he had reforged, that had belonged to another.

He needed to understand the connection the previous wielder still had to the weapon and to form his own connection to it. Lyshea had said that influence would fade, but it seemed to be getting stronger. Previous meditations had led Galen to believe that the Sith it had belonged to had died. But, now it seemed unclear.

The hunter was not good at meditation. He had the patience to be still and quiet. He had done that for hours at a time, waiting for prey. But, his mind would always be active, considering the possibilities of what might come and how he could face it. He needed to let that go. He needed to open himself to the blade and accept whatever that would do, without overthinking it. It's not like he knew what to expect anyway.

The lightaber hilt sat in his lap, as he tried to focus on it, through the Force.

OOC: Utilizing that dark Side die to connect to the Force?

OOC: No, now that I've remembered, I'll use Purity of the Force to flip it without Destiny or Strain.

He heard a voice that said, “There is no ignorance, there is knowledge…”

It is a strong male voice, but distant barely above a whisper.

He recognised the words. He had discussed them within the past few weeks. He still didn't quite agree.

"Ignorance, yet knowledge." he whispered back. "I wish to learn."

“Learning requires an open mind… hrrm… and your mind seems to be set on some things,” the voice replied a little closer now.

"I accept ignorance and seek knowledge. Is that not an open mind?" he countered. "I admit, I'm uncomfortable with the order, but a closed mind isn't what holds me back."

“Then what holds you back, you have my weapon, you have a desire for justice,” the male ghostly voice responded.

"And, I would pursue that, in my way." he nodded. "But, there is one surrounded by darkness, who distrusts the Jedi. I do not think I can pull her back, if I became one."

“Why?” the voice replied. “Maybe it isn’t your purpose to pull her back. Not every one was meant to walk the path of the light side.”

"Perhaps not, but that doesn't mean I should leave her to the dark." he shook his head. "We can find balance without opposing one another. Chaos, yet there is harmony."

“Sith don’t believe in harmony, conflict makes them stronger,” the voice replied.

"She is not Sith yet. Should I abandon her to that fate? Is that justice?"

“Are you certain of that?” the voice countered.

"No." he admitted. "I am not certain of anything. But, to presume the worst, would be giving up on her. I can't do that, not until I see her for myself."

A ghostly glorious beard attached to an older human male appeared before Galen and said, "Optimism, is good, but she may be lost already. She may even need to be returned to the Force for the good of the galaxy."

"I have accepted that." he nodded. "I will still hope. But, if I cannot bring her back her, if I must oppose her, I will need your help."

“You’re going to need a miracle, but we can start with my help, the late Jedi Knight Yulu Kess at your disposal. I guess I was more attached to my life than I thought,” the ghostly form responded.

His tone has a slight Imperial twinge to it and a mischievous twinkle in the eyes.

"Galen Sol, would be student." he grinned. "You aren't what I was expecting. Were you on the barge?"

"Well, stories about hearing voices often don't end well." he shrugged. "And, the crash where I found your weapon did involve the Sith."

“Well I was there investigating the Sith before my untimely demise. It’s all a blur, hard to pin down. How is my old saber? I feel like you polished her up enough to be useful,” he responded.

"I did what I could. It is certainly functional." he turned it over in his hands. "I'm not sure I'll be able to repair it if it breaks again, though."
