Dressed down in her fatigues Chase was on one of the treadmills again. Running almost absent-mindedly as she went over the days events again in her head. Flashes of the different faces and moments all coursing through her mind in an almost haphazard manner. Then, at the end of it all... she was still here. Just running on the treadmill in the same base keeping up her fitness to be ready to do it all again.

Another person stepped onto the treadmill beside her, coppery red hair pulled into a tail at the back of her head as she set the program and began running at a quick pace. She looked over at the woman next to her and nodded in greeting.

Chase came right back from her thoughts as she noticed the womans hand move forward to set the program on the machine. Looking over her shoulder as she spoke she wore a light grin by ways of greeting, "Hey, haven't seen you around the base before."

She glanced back over with a smile. "Hey... I've been out on assignment, but I arrived with everyone else. Luth Khalan."

"Luth, interesting name but I think I'm gonna call you Red, sounds nice and simple and.. well, it'd be hard to confuse you with most of the folks around here. So, tell me, who're you signed up with?"

She chuckled a little. "Not a lot of redheads around here." Or Sith. "What do you mean?"

"Unit, group, you're not a pilot I can tell that otherwise I'd have seen you around before, not many things a pilot can do to escape my introduction sometime or another. So, that leaves a few options and I'm really kinda hoping you're not a spook, though your reappearing only now gives me that vibe," Chase said, pulling up a towel and wiping her forehead with it quick. "Of course, if you were a spook, would you even be able to tell me? No, don't answer that, dumb question."

"Oh, right... Squad three, sniper," she answered with a nod. "Well... I'm sort of a spook, but I don't think I'm particularly spooky right now. More with the ground troops."

"Sort of a spook huh?" Chase said but lost her breathing rhythm for a moment and stopped to regain it. "Can't say much about you guys," she stopped herself from being too obnoxious about that one, "but Snipers... is it true you guys put notches in your rifles for every Tin-Can you waste?"

"Nope. I don't like killing, so I don't like to make it a point of pride like that," she says, looking over and shrugging. "But it's what I can do."

Chase choked a laugh, forcing her hand up to her mouth to steady herself, "S-sorry, that's just the first time I've heard that. Not that any of us quite like it, but it's.. you know, different. I'll have to ask another one about why they do it then, see what it means to them. But, don't you mind me."

"Never pained my heart too much against the people the Republic is forced up against, makes it easy when you know it's an Imp in the pit or just one of these Tin-Can bastards. Galaxy's better off without people'd hurt people just to get ahead."

"I'm kind of envious that you can see it that simply," she said with a slight smile. "I was born in the Empire... Known too many people there to be happy about anyone dying."

"When you live in a galaxy that's been plunged into chaos because of them, it's a little hard not to see it so simply," Chase said, holding her breath at the last for maybe being a bit too honest in present company. "Still.. people like you knew which side was right in the end, so people over there could always do the same thing, leave. Fight for the good guys."

"Yeah, that's true," she agreed, deciding not to pursue that line of conversation. "You mentioned you were a pilot?"

Chase took a second to answer, abrupt shift and all, but she was a respectable sort enough, "Yea, one of the few who helped break through the blockade on the way down here. Chances are, you see a pilot up there and get that though, wow, now that's a pilot, " she accentuated the idea with a raised arm stretching out across in front of her, " you're probably lookin' at me."
