''Waste nothing, want nothing'' the jedi engineer told herself as she approached the chief's office

She knocked on the door and waited for a reply

Chief got up out of his chair and lumbered over and opened the door and said, “Padawan Baesal, my favorite Jedi engineer. What can the Republic do for you today?”

He brushed past her into the hangar to get a look around, his very presence causing folks to tighten up and not look like they were slacking. He added, “You keep coming down here I might have to put you on a duty roster. Got a few openings on over nights if you’re a night wasp.”

Baesal considered the offer for a moment

''That is an interesting offer chief but I don't usually stay out late. Still, I'll gladly make an exception if I am needed.'' she ended up replying

''But right now I am here to see if there is excess scrap that your engineers are not using. I am pretty sure I could put them to good use.''

“Hrrm, what are you cooking now, master Jedi?” the push broom mustache wearing besalisk replied.

''I am not sure quite yet chief but I prefer being ready'' she said ''I had thought about goo grenades or more shield generators, however.''

“My gut,” he said rubbing his stomach with his lower arms, “Says you’re alright. Plus you practically brought the Turtle back to life by yourself, so I tell you what I can get you access to the scrap. Just remember we need it for patching up these birds, speeders and whatever else these meatheads smash on their way to victory.”

Baesal smiled wide

''Thanks chief! If you need anything done, don't hesitate to call me''

“If you got a whallop burger I could go for three,” he chuckled loudly.

“Wife would kill me though, says I better cut out all the fast food. Just keep doing good work, master Jedi.”

''Say...'' she hs ehad an idea ''I could make another portable shield generator for you and your people.''

She took out her datapad to show the schematics to the chief

''It is not invincible but could help should one of your teams be attacked while doing work on the field''

“I won’t turn it down, can probably a spare a tech or two to assist you, master Jedi,” he responded.

She nodded with enthousiasm: Having her tech help people was fairly rewarding.

''Great! I'll start right now then!''

The Chief nodded, "Love that enthusiasm."
