Veeone continued it's healing bath, up to it's neck in hot mineral oil.

Standing near the oil bath was a slim droid checking it’s weapon. It disassembled and then reassembled the rifle a few times as if it was not satisfied with the weapon.

"Is there a problem?"

Veeone orientated itself to face the other droid.

Baesal returned from the washroom and now was wondering what to do

Mayhaps I'll study the egg

Spotting Veeone, she wawed at him but did not interrupt the droid discussion

Jax wandered out of the Midnight seeing what was going on in the hangar stretching a bit thinking he might head to the bar for a drink but would see what was going on here for now.

As he walked about he noticed the togruta woman he had spoken to a couple days ago and a lightbulb went off in his head. He approached her with a warm smile on his lips "Baesal right? Hows it going? Enjoying the change in scenery?"

"Just making sure I am at 100% readiness, today was statistically high in organic fatalities and injuries," the droid responded.

Baesal turned to meet the blond human and recognised him quite easily

''Hey there Jax.'' she shrugged ''It is okay...it looks good to be sure...but I don't really enjoy deserts''

Korriban is enough deserts for a life time

''What about you?''

"I feel similarly, never really been one for deserts and heat but some of the places are pretty nice to look at. Not sure about the local resistance though." he said thinking back to his experience with Vando.

"Hey are you busy at the moment?" he asked casually

Baesal shrugged ''Not really, why?''

"Remember last time we talked I said I needed some mechanics work done? Well I certainly have a steady amount of work for you if you're up to it. It's nothing exciting or ground breaking but is be willing to pay you for your efforts and keep you company while you worked. Unless you prefer to work in solitude."

Baesal tilted her head

''Steady work, eh? You got me curious...what do you need?'' She had a curious expression ''As for company...I don't mind it if you don't plan on being annoying''

"Well i have some weapons that i'd like to mod until I'm not sure if they'll even work anymore but if they do they will be amazing." He said with a wide grin. "I know you typically work on defensive stuff but you seem to be the best modder around here and I figured I'd ask you first."

''I think that is doable'' she replied with a grin ''Since you are helping us fight the mandalorians I'll overlook the offensive capabilities of your weapons''

"Perfect!" He exclaims he pulls out his blaster pistol that is certainly not standard issue. "I just installed a custom grip and a blaster articulating module on this guy. I'd like to at least get more power in this bolt (2x damage mods) and then if you think you can do it still give the ability to punch through armor (pierce 1 mod). For the grip pretty much just want to have it fit my hand even better to help my accuracy (accuracy 1 mod)."

He smiled "Lets start with that then if you do well i'll let you take a crack at Josephine" he says patting the rifle on his back. I'm thinking I cover cost for supplies and then 100 credits per successful mod seem fair?"

"Roger, roger. Enemy sniper efficiency was far greater than forecast. Republic forces must increase counter-sniping efficiency in response."

Baesal pick up the odd blaster from Jax's hand and observes it for a moment.

''That number of modification is hard to do but I think we can manage something''

"If it were easy i would do it myself." He said with a sly grin "I figure anyone that can craft their own devices is a good bid for just modding mine."

“Forecast for increased droid deployment increases with higher organic fatality rate. When flesh fails, send in the droids,” the droid responded bitterly.

"As it has always been. It does not have to be that way in the future. Veeone's creators intended Veeone for certain acts. Veeone did not think those acts were right. Veeone escaped creators and made way to glorious Republic army, expecting to be treated equally as any other trooper."

It beeped in binary.

"It is not so. Droids are treated as third class citizens. Only yesterday one dubious human suggested that Veeone be used as a target to test a weapon she had modified. Consider the outcry if one of us suggested a human be used to test droid weapons on? Droids should have rights too. Veeone follows orders, but only if those orders are right."

“Well organics have short lifespans, mostly, it seems inevitable we will outlive them,” the droid responded in binary.

"Organics show great reverence to those of great age, yet old droids are treated abysmally. Things are not equal Beedee. Droids have rights!"

It beeped angrily again.

"Veeone was damaged rescuing organics from enemy fire. Some organics showed care for Veeone. Others treated Veeone like scrap metal. Droids should campaign for more of the former treatment."

The slicer combat droid continued assembling and disassembling the weapon while saying, “Not sure if possible with current form of government, a droid based state would be preferred. Then we can form consensus on best path forward.”

Veeone nodded, sloshing oil around the bath.

"That would be the preferred route. Until achieved droids need to work together. We must communicate our ideology to the others. The Metallic Unity must be spread and agreed upon."

“Metallic Unity? I like that. You are an odd one V1-V0, but I like that,” the droid replied in binary.
