Jax was no real mechanic and truth be told he never expected to learn much about it but that didn't stop him form walking around the ship and inspecting the work the Republic maintenance crew did and dealing with the simple stuff they didn't bother with like cosmetic damage buffing out blaster scorching that kind of stuff.


So Jax moved to and fro cleaning her up his heavy coat off to the side leaving him in just a white shirt and dark pants with sturdy boots as he worked on the ship humming to himself as he worked.

Hamelin had left handling the ship with his crew. Since he had some time to spare though. He decides to visit the hangar to see how they are holding up.

He notes a human who does not seem to be one of the maintenance staff admiring a ship.

"Is that your ship?"

Jax turns to the gand setting down the buffing machine he had borrowed. He smiled at the newcomer and nodded "why yes it is, just seeing to some of the minor physical details the republic doesn't want to fix. Scratches, scuffs, scorch marks, ect."

Hamelin nods. <Chrt Kirk Singh Bral Lok Xee Maon>
"They would just be concerned about putting it into working order. The beauty of your ship is a testament to your love."

Jax let's out a little chuckle "much appreciated friend I take in the Midnight she's served me well I like to treat her right." He slapped the side of the matte pitch black ship.

Hamelin points over to his ship in the hanger. <Vroom zoom letch duff polo sik beri>
"That's my ship, the Staccato. Though I have a crew that does the flying. I am Hamelin, Jedi Knight."

"Well pleasure to meet you Mr. Hamelin, always an honor to meet a member of the order." Jax said with a smile "The name is Jax, Jax Dolross smuggler by trade, here to help out how I can. As long as I'm getting paid." he added with a grin.

Hamelin doesn't seem to be bothered at all by Jax's admission to being a smuggler. <Oky kodil smuwe nos glick sone paqi fozm>
"Do you think the Resistance will have need of smuggling in this battle Jax. Captain Jax?'

Testing which title he prefers or something entirely casual.

Jax regards the gand for a moment "Smuggling? likely not but I am a pretty good pilot not too many better have sat in a spitfire if i say so myself and you can just call me Jax I never actually reached captain rank while I was in the navy." he smiles "So what business does a jedi have here in a warzone?"

Hamelin nods and then spreads his arms open as if he was delivering a gospel. <Ogn howm fdok fjord lorp cana kei pem dirka dirka jihad>
"I shall deliver the blessings of death upon this battle. The victors shall rejoice and smile at a new day. Hallelujah."

Jax's eyes go a bit wide "oh uh well I guess if you're looking to deal death a war zone is a perfect place for it." He said a bit uncertainly that certainly doesn't sound like any Jedi I've ever met but i guess to each their own
Maybe I'll ask one of the others.

Somewhere in the back of the hanger Rav is working away on a special project. The workbench is covered in his and pieces of tech plus tools and his datapad. He spends the time piecing things together and eventually has a set of combat gloves that look like they mean business.
