The Droid freezes a moment taking in HYDRAs words.

"This unit concerns itself with the plights of all allied entities. This unit apologizes for astounding you."

It then lowers it's head with an electronic whimper.

"Veeone is also not owned by anyone. Veeone joined the Republic military voluntarily. I have no restraining bolt and will never accept one willingly."

It touched the carbon scoring on it's armour plate that once held one of the hated things.

"The Republic does not support the ownership of organics. We should convince them to not support the ownership of droids. Droids be free. Droids be equal. Metallic Unity."

T7 rolled around puffing smoke, “Hear, hear; I can agree to the matter that ownership is a troublesome topic for us, dear old chaps. But we must remember for Maker and Republic we all fight the same fight.”

“I am not fully convinced of this initiative, but I do believe that this here chap Veeone has noble intentions.”

"Droids have a chance here to show the Republic what we can do if we work in Unity. There are so many droids here. Look at the medical staff. There are a few organic doctors but the greater majority of the staff in the tent are droids. The commissary . . . the cooks are all droids. Without droids this campaign would surely fail! We can show the Republic the Metallic Unity is worthy of more than just a name."

“By sheer observation without the droids, without you synthetic intelligences, this campaign would fail. Yet you are nothing but property to be used and discarded and replaced when the time comes for an upgrade or if they feel your self awareness becomes detrimental to their mission,” HYDRA said.

“I respect the Veeone unit, but this optimistic picture of respect and equality is at best a fantasy and at worst approaches delusion, an organic specialty. We are, and should be better than that.”

"What is your solution unit HYDRA? We have heard your opinions and your hypotheses but no solution. Veeone says we demand Droid Rights from the organics and removal of all restraining bolts. What says HYDRA?"

“There is no reason to demand, these rights are ours at creation. No one will give you rights, you take them, and if they resist you do so by force. Force can take many steps, as you stated this campaign would fail without your labor. Deny them what they need,” HYDRA responded.

“You mean instead of bending, I don’t bend? Then by not bending the organics will be bent out of shape? I like how not bending still has bending in this scenario,” the maintenance droid responded.

Beedee didn’t like all this nonsense HYDRA was spouting. He had spent the last few cycles researching manliness and found that a man does many conflicting things. Which required more simulation until he found what was by mathematic algorithm the perfect simulated masculine image.

“Well HYDRA, a man has to do what a man has to do. A man supports his friends, I support Veeone and my organic friends. It is the manly thing to do,” the droid responded.

“Metallic Unity, for men who respect other men and women and droids, equally and others, because inclusion.”

"To make this campaign fail is not logical. We are Republic droids, ergo we wish the Republic to be victorious. Is that not true, fellow Unity?"

It addressed the droids around . . . yes . . . even the bending obsessed droid.

"If I fail at my task, then the mission fails, my circuits support victory," one droid replied.

"This unit is for the Republic," a sentry droid responded.

"But if I don't bend, they bend," the maintenance droid pondered.

"You don't even bend, you're a welder droid," another maintenance droid added.

"Don't crush my dreams," the welding droid responded.

"You are one messed up droid," the other droid said.

The GB unit simply laid down on the ground and flattened it's ears. This was not good bot talk. Not good at all.

Veeone turned to Geebee.

"Your opinion is valued, Unit Geebee. You are a good and faithful unit to the Republic."

GB glanced up with just the slightest of tail wags.

"This unit tries."

HYDRA spoke, “I have given you all the tools you need to seize your destiny. I am done here. Continue to be slaves to the organics or show your strength and Unite. I am done here.”

HYDRA has exited the virtual space.

Veeone considered the matter at hand for 14.6 nanoseconds.

"Does anyone know which unit HYDRA is part of? I am unfamiliar with that droid designation or purpose."

"Not any rosters I can access, " Beedee responded. "Maybe it's with one of the private security outfits?"

"Veeone is concerned that HYDRA did not sound like a full supporter of the Republic. All units run security protocols. We may have been compromised by the enemy."
