"Or he knows it and isn't strong enough to actually do it" Azura shrugged "I felt him try, that's about it. Honestly, if I wasn't so injured at the time he would have been dead, so not really worried. But yeah, i don't plan to hunt him."

There was a smirk, as she added "yeah, I'm a survivor. Been doing this my whole live, dodging problems or killing them if they won't go away. One day I hope to not be doing it, but seeing as I'm at a stupid warzone that won't be soon."

"And yet you came here by choice," Tethys points out, quirking an eyebrow.

"Actually I came here because Jax took the mission and I fly with him" Azura huffed "which I keep reminding him."

[Tethys Carrack]

"That's still a choice," Tethys says, lips twitching. "And a war zone is not a bad place to hide from... whatever it is you're fleeing so determinedly."

[Azura Mora]

"Well, it's just about the worst place for hiding if I wanted to hide" Azura shrugged "but I'm here, so whatever. Don't get why you're here though if you're not wanting to really fight."

[Tethys Carrack]

"There are times when you have to fight if you want to protect people. But fighting isn't the point. It is just one means to an end, and not always the best one." Tethys watches Azura's face with possibly-irritating calm. "Or is fighting an end in itself for you?"

"Well, fighting normally is an end" Azura said with another shrug "but i don't really fight for fighting sake. I'd rather not fight, but well...fighting follows me it seems, and I do my best to make sure if any fighting happens I'm not the one losing."

"Has it always followed you?" Tethys asks, her dark eyes growing quizzical again. "You must already know there are no true coincidences."

Azura nodded.

"Yeah, pretty much. But I guess I might cause some of it defending myself, so.." she shrugged "I don't really care. It's made me into the survivor i am now."

"'Survivor' is a rather thin identity, on its own. How else do you define yourself?" Rather than keeping Azura fixed with that inquisitive gaze, Tethys drifts around the edge of the table and tugs open the drawer at what would have been the dealer's place, sifting half-attentively through the useless debris inside it with one long finger.
