[D4 LM] CSI: Black Sands

Cole scanned the orders on his datapad again. The information was sparse: perform an autopsy and determine cause of death. Report his findings to Captain Alderaan. It was already scorching hot, and it was going to get hotter, but there was one perk to being a doctor, the medical facilities were one of the few places in the camp with more than the bare minimum climate control. It was at least two degrees cooler inside, and humidity was better than almost-zero.

There were also refrigeration units, so there was cool water available. It was downright luxurious compared to being outside. It was for the patients’ benefit, not the staff, but that didn’t make it feel any less indulgent. The young surgeon downed a glass of water, pulled on a pair of gloves, and prepared to examine the body.

The corpse has a blaster shot to the brain but it looks like it was already dead before that. Though subtle it looks like extreme asphyxiation about the throat did the deed. No hand marks, or any identifiable marks but there is subtle bruising, like an invisible force crushed the throat.

OOC: Cole would like to examine closer to eliminate as many possibilities as he can (garrotte, rope, scarf, crushed by concrete). Essentially attempting to determine that there are no marks, residues, or trace evidence that might point to a conclusion other than “Force-choke”.

D4 LM: Autopsy 2; Medicine, Hard, Upgraded Both Ways, Stim Bonus to Intellect, Physician’s Kit: 3eP+2eA+1eB+2eD+1eC 5 successes, 2 advantage, 1 Triumph

After spending almost two hours checking his findings and painstaking eliminating every option he had the tools to investigate, Cole cleaned up, threw out his gloves, and made himself a large mug of kaff from the machine he’d adjusted the settings on. He ran a hand through his dishevelled curls, he had a report to write.
