Hearing that there are suicide bombers, Ashla makes her way to the Resistance Camp since she suspected they would be far more overwhelmed than the Republic Camps.

“Do you know the reason why the Sith hold Korriban as sacred above all other worlds, padawan?” the gnarled tooth man spoke in a rasp as if breathing was a labor.

"The important question, is do I care? Because I don't. I really don't."

“You should, Ashla, you should not let your life be guided by lies and deception,” the man spoke.

“Wisdom and power could be yours… why be simply a doctor and heal aches when you could cure death itself.”

"Yeah. It's worked for you, right? You're really standing here alive, then? Not some ancient dead Sith lord who has decided to hang around me for some reason." Ashla shrugs. "See, the first things liars and manipulators do is tell people that others are liars and manipulators." She sighs. "It's going to take more than big promises to get me to listen. Fuck. Most of my medical career was based on huge lies I knew I couldn't actually provide."

The old man laughed and then coughed and wheezed, “Silly child I am very much alive and you are very much holding my sword… I wondered where it got to… but then after a few centuries I stopped caring.”

“I knew Korriban would provide.”

A sith sword? Well, that's interesting. There was some concerns. She was drawn to the sword, but the idea that is helping some Sith Lord haunt her did not make her feel comfortable.

"So, I'll bite. Who are you?"

“If I had a name it would be Spindral,” the apparition replied.

“I do not gird myself with foolish titles and finery. The Dark Side cares not for such things.”

"Should this name mean something? I didn't grow up in the Empire and know little of the... are a Sith?" Now, Ashla was being genuinely curious. She, of course, didn't trust him. But if an immortal Dark Side user was kicking it around waiting until someone picked up his sword, then the Order might want to know. Wait. Wasn't the first time he contacted me before I got the sword. Ashla was totally not creeped out.

“Korriban’s will is done, you were meant to take up my blade… for good or ill we shall see,” he replied with a cough.

Did he just read my mind?

"Korriban has it's own will?"

“Any world steeped deep in the Force has a will, if you have the mind to listen… she will sing the most darkest of songs,” he said.

“I have been listening for centuries, it is beautiful and terrifying.”

"And you are devoted to doing Korriban's will?" Ashla was trying to put the puzzle pieces together.

“No one is devoted to Korriban, I simply listen and she provides. She is my mistress, my caretaker, and In turn I walk her sands. I see the forgotten places. I learn the dark secrets and remember,” he replied.

“I respect her, but I know she has a dangerous will.”

Ashla internally rolls her eyes. So much for getting straightforward information. Of course, if he could read her mind, then that would make sense.

"And Korriban wants me to have your sword."

“Korriban wants you to remember… or maybe it wants you to see, she does not speak any clearer to me than she will to you. The Force makes connections some before we even exist. It is possibility, child,” he chuckled before coughing.

“It was there when you connected with little Jeebu, it was there when I felt your presence across the galaxy… it is here now.”

He coughed again lightly and then said, “So many centuries have taken their toll.”

Ashla immediately became defensive as soon as Jeebu was mentioned, but let it go. She would not let this... ghost, ancient Sith Lord, creepy old man, whatever, it does matter. She wouldn't let him use Jeebu to corrupt her.

So, she shifted her thoughts to what else he said. So, a planet is going to haunt me soon. Well, that's swell.

"And your immortal life is ending?" Is it because I have your sword?

It occurred to Ashla she could just think these things instead of talking to no one like a crazy person.

“We are all dying child, I am just much more efficient at it, after all these centuries. Though I suppose I still have a century of suffering left… maybe two,” he chuckled ruefully exposing his blackened teeth.

“Immortality has only been achieved by the Emperor, but a long life is not beyond your grasp.”

"Yeah.... Watching you wheeze and talk about another century of suffering isn't exactly the best argument for semi-immortality."

Ashla shrugs. "Immortality is what we leave behind. Every life I save, whether it is through medicine or something else is my legacy. Children will be born because I saved their parent. Thousands of years from now, people will exist because of my actions." Ashla chuckles. "Maybe I'll find some guy to fuck and produce my own whelp." Ashla sighs. "Regardless, even if I'm not around to see it, it sounds like a better immortality than the one you're suffering."

Ashla meant it. Master Maaka would be proud. And that meant something to Ashla.

Spindral grinned; it was not a kind thing. “The galaxy is bigger than any of us, all of those things would happen even if you did nothing. Immortality is a fool’s bargain, but power is not. You may not be ready for the secrets I could impart, but you could be strong… stronger than even me, in time.”

“You only need the ambition and knowledge.”

"Ambition. Yeah. Never been good that. Sounds like Korriban should have picked someone else. I just wanted a neat sword. And a goat."

Respect was never something Ashla was good with.

There is only silence, the vision is gone.

"Well, that probably wasn't a good thing." But Ashla would take the silence. She decided to find some people to help.

It was a good day for a walk. Just a bad place for it. Craw couldn't help but feel out of place inside the camp, the streams of dusty refugees going past him making him feel wholly foreign in this place. He noticed a medic amidst the crowds and waved at her.

"Hey! You a doctor?" He asked Ashla as he approached.

Ashla sees the man approaching. "Yes. Ashla Vyliis, Jedi Padawan. What happened?" She motions for the man to sit as she gets her kit ready.
