[D5 MA] Subdued Thing

It seemed that Cole didn't need to go looking for people in need of medical attention today. Galen had commed him about the creature set loose in the market. It was dead by the time he arrived, frowning at the swathe of dead and wounded it had cut through the bazaar.

Galen met Cole along the way, leading him to a building where the wounded were being sheltered.

"It was pretty horrible, Doctor."

Somewhere along the way, he had been hurt, but he drew no attention to it.

"Thanks." he nodded. "That feels much better. The sand demon didn't even touch me, but someone clocked me from behind while I was waiting."

Cole shook his head and ran a hand through his hair, "typical." His lips thinned as his jaw tightened.

"It was let loose in the bazaar out there." Galen explained. "It was confused, agitated and surounded by what it saw as threats. It lashed out at anything and tore apart whatever it could get a hold of."

"I'm going to need your help, mostly just holding things in place so I can work." He moved to the nearest patient, their arm had been dislocated at the shoulder where the creature had grabbed them. The joint was swollen, the flesh almost black from bleeding, a little more force and joint may have given way completely.

"I can't blame the creature, it's not at fault for being trapped here." He applied a local aesthetic and sliced open the shoulder, a gout of blood erupting from the wound. He flushed it with saline until he could just about see what he was doing "Galen, hands here, I'm going to reseat the humerus. Don't let up until I say we're good."

"Understood." he nodded and did as instructed. "It was a bad situation, every which way."

There was a painful-sounding POP! as the shoulder joint came back together. "Okay," he indicated for Galen to relax his hold, setting about repairing the damaged joint capsule and draining off the fluids that had caused the worst swelling. He moved with unparalleled expertise and efficiency, it was over quickly.

"Have you dealt with anything like this, before?"

"I've dealt with all sorts of things," he moved to the next patient. "war zones have no end of variety when it comes to the wounded."

"I don't envy you in that." he sighed. "I've seen plenty of death. But, not on the scale of a war."

Still sitting, this time on a low wall as the danger had passed. He was sad, well internally, that the Jedi had prevailed… well it was more like two Jedi… shooty guy with a saber, and totally not a Sith trained lady… wink wink. But they had killed the Sand Demon… it could have been his friend, they could have gone on adventures.

He could train it to eat Zash. Not that he would ever betray her… duh… nope, loyal to the end. Her end at least.

He continued eating his salty fried snack mourning the death of Sandy McSanddemon, first of his name, king of the Black Sands and warden of this kriff hole.

"Count yourself lucky. You spend long enough looking at people's insides and you start to forget that they're people at all." Cole was about to move onto the next patient when the mystery fellow on the wall caught his eye. For a moment, he just stared, managing to retain enough presence of mind not to let his jaw fall open.

He awkwardly nudged Galen and nodded towards Darius.

Galen saw him, and continued to watch him as he diirected Cole to keep working.

"I don't know who he is, Doctor. But, we shouldn't let him distract us."

"I'll be back," Cole said to Galen, sauntering over to Darius, running a hand through his blonde curls. Looking up, he adjusted his spectacles, "did you see what happened here?"

“What the fight between my fellow Jedi and the whatever that thing was? Yeah I saw part of it, but I was protecting a family figured best to leave it to the big heroes. Then grabbed some of these sweet spicy poppers. Want some?” he offered to Cole.

“I wish I could stop, this is my second bag... don’t tell the Jedi Council, they hate attachments.”

He waved the offer away, spicy foods hadn't really agreed with him since his surgery. "I'm sure the family is grateful," he took the man's responses at face value, for now, "were any of them injured? I'd like to help if I can."

“Ah they seem fine, rattled nerves mostly. Save your meds for the real wounded,” he responded.

Azura had managed to dodge most of the shooting, but now was sitting and cleaning her gun. Doing her best to not look as in agony as she was.

Jedi Knight, Darius, but my friends call me Dee,” he said warmly in greeting.

“I was here on my own, but decided to help out.”

"Glad to have you around, Knight Darius," Cole felt his cheeks heating up, he couldn't dare call the man Dee, but he liked the way that it sounded in his head. Looking behind him, running a hand through his hair and rubbing the back of his neck, "better get back to it, feel free to keep us company if you like." He pointed, "that's Galen and Azura, they're both freelancers, currently on the Republic dime."

Azura looked up as she heard her name, and gave the good doctor a wave.
