Piloting the speeder that she borrowed from the base and promptly collected everyone in, Chase sped out into the Farmlands of the surrounding area. There was enough space out here to get lost for a little while and close enough to base that if anything were to happen... Didn't matter. Nothing was gonna ruin this little outing. No sense mentioning or even thinking how she was loathe to be too separated from her ship during active conflict. Even if she was on her off shift.

Badera collected first, she rode up front with Jax and Garth accompanying in the back. Those were all she collected for now but later... later was when the friends could join in. The prize.

Badera was geared for combat or hunting same difference really in what was a combat zone. Still is but much secure than it was the days previous. She was qiet on the ride though, content to watch the scenery glide by.

Garth twitched and fidgeted in the back seat. It wasn't that Chase was a bad pilot, far from it, just that whenever someone else was piloting a personal sized craft...well he was kinda a back seat driver.

His hands clenched in his lap, Garth struggled not to add his unasked for 2 creds on how it should be done.

Jax hung out in the back near Garth, armored up and his sweet Josephine in his lap polished and well maintained. "How are you Garth my boy? Seem a little tense for a hinting trip."

They sped through the countryside, until open fields and farms delved into the woods surrounding. Taking the fun way, Chase sped up, around, down, risky manuevers if she wasn't actually 100% confident in everything she was doing. Still, your average everyday driver might think the girl was crazy for some of the turns she ended up making when they got into the forest. Aiming for a nice spot in the middle of it all she'd settle the speeder down and set up shop.

"Yer a pilot y'know what it's like when someone else's behind the wheel..." Garth replies with a grin.

Jax chuckled a bit "Nah you just gotta sit back and relax my man." Jax had never been too alpha in these situations, would he make a couple of those turns differently? sure but as long as they make it that's all he really cared about.

Jax turned to address the rest of the group, "So anyone done this before? what do we do?"

"Find something, shoot it... is there really all that more to hunting?" Chase called back, rather at ease with the lack of a proper plan.

Jax shrugged "Sounds good to me, lets go." he said cheerily excited to just spend some time relaxing

Garth looked at his standard issue sidearm and sighed. Republic supplies hadn't been able to provide anything bigger, so he was stuck with this.

Apparently weapon envy is a real thing.

Badera chuckled at the back and forth and said, “Who wants to take the lead to find something to hunt?”

Jax tried to do his best to find something worth hunting but just couldn't turn anything up

Jax led the team but loses his footing on embankment and slid down into a small ravine, covered now in sticker plants, dirt… and some mud from a trickle of water at the bottom.

Garth suppresses a chuckle at Jax's efforts but extends an arm to help the man up.

"How 'bout y'all stick to shootin', and let me rustle up some targets?"

(OOC flipping a destiny for "something cool")

Garth dashes into the bush, hooting and hollering as he tries to get the attention of whatever nearby beasties might be around and hopefully avoid their claws long enough to lead them back to the group.

Jax gave a sheepish half smile as he accepted the hand up he brushed himself off "Yeah sure thing man, I obviously have no talent for it." he said laughing.

Chase restrained a laugh as Jax fell, but when Garth went running on his own she couldn't hold it. No one was that disciplined.

"What in the hell is he doing?" she said, fighting the words through the laugh barely contained long enough to speak.

Oh he found something… a creature padded slowly into sight drooling black-blue drool and hissed at them… then flexed muscled the bristles on the back fluttering and then a high pierced whine goes out and they can hear more movement in the trees.

It padded back and forth waiting to see what the delicious morsels decide to do.

Looking dead ahead at the creature Chase had but a few choice words to share, "Sooo, Garth, does that look like something we can eat? Cause I'm quite sure it's got it figured the other way around."

well shit this'll be fun "Damn I hope we can take it out fast, I'm not looking to go to medical a second time today. "Jax said as he leveled his rifle at the beast.

A puffed Garth pulls up with the others and extracts his small pistol from his belt.

"You really think....anything other than predators....was gonna be hangin' around...a war zone..." He asks Chase, a little judgmentally.

"N-no, of course not.. but that's not the point damnit! Look at that thing, would you really wanna eat something that has drool that looks like that?" she said, raising her voice a little. Then, quieter, and mostly to herself, "Who in the galaxy even knows what the meat of something like that looks like.."

"Ah'm sure the locals have a recipe or two..." He jokes. "Besides there's not normally MUCH poison in the meat right?"

The creature crouched and then did a languid stretch before approaching the group slowly with a toothy grin. It looked at Garth hungrily, behind it in the brush they can see movement that it is not alone.

It didn't do well to get hunted, killed, eaten, and that usually meant not turning your back on what threatened you.

So.. with her pistol from her holster Chase fired three quick blaster bolts into the ground before the creature. Kicking up dirt and flame in a spout that cast a few sprinkling bits of the dirt onto it's face. Bolts warming it's... snout?

The creature stopped and hissed which turned into a growl and snapped at Chase… it paced back and forth coming no closer.
