Event Type: Campaign Objective, Combat
Power Cost: 0
Participants: 3 players
Timeslots: Early Night
Description: The Republic has been alerted of vital intelligence and they need a crack squad to sneak into a secure facility and steal that data before it is purged. Time is of the essence and this information will be vital for the campaign in Uthan Mil.
Rules: This is a combat encounter, but combat only begins if the players either forego the stealth option or alert the Mandalorians who will then begin trying to purge the system of the Intelligence, giving the players seven rounds.
Players can skip the Stealth option and begin combat, they have seven rounds to reach a Computer Terminal at Long range and succeed at two Computer checks to get the data, this is a Hard check with a setback due to being in combat. Remember each Computer check is an action in combat, thus taking at least two rounds.
Stealth Option, players can make one check per round from the following list: hard Computers check, hard Stealth check, average Coordination check, average Athletics check, and average Skullduggery check. If a roll is failed then that increases Alertness by 1, if a roll generates three threat it increases Alertness by 1, success or fail. If a Despair is rolled the team has failed the Stealth option and is subject to a surprise round by the Mandalorians, they can act and the players cannot. No player can make the same check twice. If the players can generate 10 successes before getting 7 failures then they reach the computer terminal undetected and succeed at the mission.
Generating 2 Advantage on these rolls will allow them to grant the next ally a boost die on their check. Triumph generates 2 successes even if the roll failed.
If Alertness reaches 7 then combat begins as normal, though if they get more than 5 successes the terminal is now at Medium range instead of Long range.
Rewards/Outcome: If successful gain 3 Victory points and also see below.
Trust Modified: N/A
Power Modified: 2 Power gained.
Duty Earned: Increase Duty by 5.

Garth had driven up as close to the location as he dared before progressing the rest of the way on foot. It wasn't like he was a spy or a professional sneak, but he had dodged enough MP officers to know how to stay hidden and he waited in a darkened corner for the other members of the ops team to arrive.

Dapper will flip 3 Dark Side Destiny to upgrade the Difficulty first three rolls in this thread, this turns one of the purple dice into a Red.

For Rekto, vital intelligence and crack squad were trigger words not unlike those in an adult play. He deployed at the location ready to demonstrate a shadow assassin's creed. His awesome presence was a bit too suspicious though.

Fortunately, Garth spotted a gantry a little way in the distance and managed to climb his way up to the platform where he found a panel that controlled an electric fence.
Powering it down, he hopefully provided an access route to help his team get closer to the computer that Rav needed to access. He also noticed a switch that would cause a minor radiation leak in a separate section...it might hurt some people, but this was war. In hurting those few, he might save untold hundreds of others.

Rav looked at the Hutt, then at the mess he'd made, then back at the Hutt. A shrug followed, before the specialist approached the final terminal.
Something about the setup got him thinking that he was missing something. Following some of the wiring revealed that there should be another access point up above. The wolfman easily swung himself up into the mess of tech over their heads, where he was rewarded with a small backup access point that the dummies had forgotten to encrypt. That's what you get for sassing your tech support.
Rav chuckled, downloaded the data, and dropped quietly back down to the team. He whispered: "Nice work, we're all done here."

For the Republic - Victory achieved.
There is a holo message of Varo Kryze in the data:
Varo said, “You understand the mission, my child, draw the Republic in and then detonate the power facility. Choose those you consider most loyal, that should render that region uninhabitable and remove the Republic in one fell swoop. I put my trust in you, Mando-ade forever.”

Feeling a little guilty about the actions he had taken, Garth was rather subdued as he reunited with the team.
Did Irealy need to go to that extreme? He wondered to himself.
We were never even close to getting found out, maybe I should've had more faith in my companionsFeeling decidedly slimy, he resolves to cleanse this icky feeling with a quart of cheap scotch when he gets back to the base.
"First drink's on me back at the rec room boys." He congratulates the team.

"So they've set up quite a nice trap for us to walk into, hohoho." Rekto chortled once they had built the distance from the facility. He was speaking in Huttese. " Hee la gee donohkepeu bimhee hih wa botaffa pomka che ten bai kohcha don, hohoho."
He looked at the dejected dude and patted him strongly on the shoulder. It hurt. "Good! A bottle of Tevraki for me then!" In Huttese: "Dan! Wa dakai see Tevraki che mi hee!"

Being unfamiliar with the Hutt language, Garth merely nodded along, hoping he wasn't indebting himself to some deal or another. He buckled slightly beneath the meaty slap, but straightened quickly.
"Some whack ya got thar. Glad ye'r on our team."

Rav's hair had bristled when the face of their enemy had appeared. He growled softly. "Trust a freakin' Mando to blow up a power station for giggles."
He looked at his companions. "Nice work back there. The big guy's got skills huh?"

"Not real subtle, but 'ffective." Garth agrees.
"I seen ya around the hangar bays, yeah? You do much work on m' Sptifire?" He asks Ray once they're far away from earshot of the installation they infiltrated.

Rav snorted and took another look at Garth. The flyboys and gals all blurred together.
"Yeah, probably. Which one's yours?"

Garth blushed a little.
"Th' one that needed the coolant flushed after some idiot flyboy mistook it for the oil intake?"

"I have many talents. The greatest are in battle and management." Rekto boomed immodestly, only partially interested in the discussion about starfighters. He understood Basic just fine, he simply didn't extend the courtesy of stooping to replying in it, with Huttese being so vastly superior. "Skilled technicians and pilots are always useful to have for various tasks. Like supply lines." He grinned, then lapped his grotesquely large tongue. "You could get this war good for you if you stick with me."
"Jee gee mee waki mallya. Bu lhonu doth du dokoi an babcenetkhou. Gusha kakeeth an ceuah doth vee bokeue bai gee che seiahte hotpa. Bacaka chaieya bidchkap. Uba caiot yoieu tah keueka-ou dan che uba whao uba dotkana cay mi."

Rav had to lock down the laughter and just gave Garth a long disapproving stare and slow shake of his head. He gave a little snarl of displeasure. "Do you have any idea how much time that wasted? Jenkins was cleaning that shit out for hours. 'Course, Jenkins got that job because he was slacking off, but still... You'd think they would give you flyboys a manual or somethin'."
He chuckled and gave the Hutt a quizzical look. "What do you mean 'get it good for us'? You got a scheme going already? We've been here like half a day!" He threw his hands up as if to say: Typical Hutt!

"Sorreh, I was a little distracted." Garth apologized as he ran his hand through his scalp at the memory of the togruta technician bent over some engine rebuild.
He makes a mental note to spologize to Jenkins too, then listens to the one sided conversation between Rav and the Hutt.

Garth's comment drew a wry smile that looked like a snarl on the Shistavanen's face. "Too busy to read the manual, an I right? What a surprise. Still, Jenkins got a valuable lesson out of it so there we go."
He looked at the enthusiastic Hutt with an odd smile. "You know Garth, I'm curious to see what our big friend here can do. Assuming we eventually run into some Mandos."

"Ah read the manual. Just fell foul to mah one weakness." He answers with such poor attrmpted acting it's no wonder he never hot a speaking role on The Kessel Run.
"A purty face, and a bangin' bod."
