Jax had gotten to his workout later than he planned but it was never too late for this kind of thing. He put some light weights on a bar and started lifting. Jax had a very well defined and toned physique but he could stand to add a little bulk. He was working out in a loose fitting tank top, that actually did little to hide his body, and a pair of workout shorts.

This work out session served two purposes he needed to stay in shape obviously but also needed to clear his mind and think on the events of the day. The monk trials had been....interesting. He thought to himself as he pressed the weight up again and again.

A voice, familiar but not too much so, spoke near his head. "Need a spotter?"

Jax berated himself lightly for allowing someone to get so close to him without him noticing. Outwardly he smiled and looked up seeing the woman from almost a month ago.

"Ah miss Khalan you're a pleasant surprise."

It was her area of specialty, after all. "As are you, Jax." She moved over to a treadmill. "Gotta keep in shape, huh?"

Jax smiled at that and racked the weight. He sat up wiping the sweat from his brow "Always, have to stay in top shape especially in a conflict. Our body is our first and last weapon, a tool like any blaster or piece of gear. Proper maintenance is important." He grinned "it helps that it keeps me looking decent."

She chuckled at that as she started to run, warming up before her usual pace. "I hear that... I do appreciate that it keeps me looking good. Also a better way than drinking or smoking to relax."

"Beautiful body like that I should have figured you spent some time in the gym." He said after a quick appraising look.

He laid back down and started lifting again. "So SIS been keeping you busy lately?"

She grinned back at him with that.

"Yeah... I'm usually working, so I don't get out to do this as much as I'd like," she said, picking up the pace to a quick run. "Had time to help a friend, but that's about it."

Jax nodded as he racked the weight again "Well that's mighty kind of you to help a friend." He said before taking a swig from his water bottle. He stood and offered it to Luth

"Gotta stay hydrated." He said with a casual smile as he gave the bottle a little shake.

"Eh, it's what friends are for," she replied with a smile as she panted, the exercise starting to raise her heart rate and breathing more. She smiled and accepted the water bottle, taking a pull. "Thanks."

Jax lingered for a moment before moving over to a punching bag near the treadmill starting some basic combinations he knew. Jax wasn't very good at hand to hand combat and his form was pretty sloppy. He could throw a punch but not much more than that. He knew he needed to work on that.

"So you excited for the change of scenery? prefer infected forest to burning desert or what?" he asked between strikes.

"I'd prefer not being on this planet, being real, but it is what it is," she said. "I want to go home and start my retirement paperwork."

he stopped pounding the bag for a minute "Oh yeah? finally decided thats your plan? Last time we talked you didn't seem certain it was the right thing." he said as he held the bag breathing a little heavily sweat starting to soak through his tank top.

"Well, whether I'm able to is another story," she replied, panting.

Jax nodded "understandable what you want isn't always what you can get." he said "but hey at least with a goal you have something to work towards." he said resuming his workout.

He looked at her for a second "you know you're not a very good spy."

"I'm not doing spy stuff right now," she pointed out. "Still, what makes you say that?"

Jax grinned "Well you're so obvious I mean you're beautiful and in shape, look like you can handle yourself. You have this mystique about you. If someone told me there was a spy here I would think of you pretty close to the top of the list."

He points over to a young man bumbling a tray he was carrying obviously clumsy "see that's how a spy should look and act no one here is going to suspect Private Jenkins of being a spy."

She laughed. "I just scream intragalactic woman of mystery, huh?" She replied with a grin.

Jax did another combination the strikes fast and accurate but lacking power. He stopped his breath heaving a bit. He gave Luth a grin "Oh most definitely, going to exotic planets to destabilize governments or steal guarded secrets all the while charming locals and stealing hearts." He said with a little laugh.

Jax stripped his shirt off as it was too sweaty for comfort revealing a body that had lost none of it's edge since he retired. Cut abs and chiseled lean muscle covered his torso accompanied by a number of scars a couple of stab wounds and a blaster shot of two.

She laughed. "I was always told I look like a red-haired mouse." There was a glance over to him as he left his shirt behind, but it didn't linger too long.

Jax paused for a moment talking between breath as he leaned on the bag "I mean I suppose I can see it but its mousey in like a cute way, I think it has to do with your nose. You were probably a very mousey looking awkward kid weren't you?"

She chuckled between breaths. "Yeah, got a lot of that."

He smiled and moved to a tread mill next to her getting going at a steady pace. He turned to Luth "Luth what do you think it means to be a good person?"

She looked over at him curiously, then looked forward and thought for a few moments. "I don't know. Maybe if I had a lot of time to think about it, I could figure it out, but... I don't really know."

He sighed with a rueful smile "damn i was really hoping you had an answer. It's something I've been struggling with lately."
